Not at all – you should undress to the level you are comfortable. For a full body massage, most people get completely undressed or get undressed down to their underwear. But it is all about what is most comfortable for you! Your therapist will be able to work around whatever clothes you decide to leave on. Your massage therapist should give you privacy to undress and get comfortable on the table.

You will always be covered by a sheet. The genitals (women and men) and breasts (women) will not be uncovered. If the therapist is going to work on a woman’s abdomen, a second towel or sheet will be used to cover the breasts so the main sheet or towel can be moved to expose the abdomen. The therapist will only undrape the area that is currently being worked on.

Make yourself comfortable. If your therapist wants you to adjust your position, she/he will either move you or will ask you to move however is needed. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It’s up to you. It is your massage, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time.

Our appointments are 60 minutes or 90 minutes long, while we do offer shorter appointment times for reflexology sessions. We ask that everyone arrive 15 minutes prior to their appointment so they have time to fill out paperwork. Afterwards, each therapist will ask their client to fill out an evaluation form.

This depends on the type of massage and the depth of the strokes. A light, relaxing massage shouldn’t hurt. With that being said, there is a ‘feels good’ hurt and an ‘ouch, stop it’ hurt. A good massage, even a really deep tissue massage, should always stay in the ‘feels good’ hurt range. Massage does not need to hurt to be effective. Pain can be an indication that the muscle is possibly injured or inflamed and pressure should be adjusted. Also, pain can cause you to tighten up and negate the effects of the massage

We often hear clients say that they wish they could get a massage every week – and we wish that for them too! If you are looking to just relax, then maybe scheduling every 4 – 8 weeks will work well for you. If you are looking to work on a specific condition, then we recommend to go with more frequent visits. Your therapist will be able to discuss frequency of visits after your first session to address your particular muscular issues

Sometimes there is the belief that male therapists are able to provide deeper massage than women. This is simply not true. There are female therapists who give firm pressure and who prefer deep tissue, and there are male therapists who prefer to do lighter work. We recommend discussing pressure with your therapist before the massage, and then providing feedback during the massage. If you would prefer firmer (or lighter) pressure, please speak up! And remember, massage does not have to hurt to be effective
